This Privacy Policy explains how Low Voltage Components LLC (“Low Voltage Components,” “LVC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit lowvoltagecomponents.com (the “Site”), contact us, request an estimate, or use any of our products, services, or communications (collectively, the “Services”). It also describes the rights and choices available to you regarding your personal information.

By accessing or using the Site or Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the Site or Services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information, depending on how you interact with us:

Information you provide to us

• Identity & contact data — name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and similar identifiers you submit through forms, calls, texts, or emails.
• Project & property data — the service address, property type and size, floor plans or builder drawings, site photographs and measurements, existing wiring and equipment inventories, construction schedules, and gate codes, lockbox codes, or access instructions you provide so our technicians can reach the work area.
• Transaction & service data — estimates, proposals, change orders, scheduled appointments, service history, warranty claims, and correspondence with us.
• Payment data — billing information processed securely through our third-party payment processors. We do not store full payment card numbers on our own servers.
• System, network & credential data — equipment models and serial numbers, network configuration and Wi-Fi settings, IP and MAC addresses of installed devices, system programming files, manufacturer dealer-portal records, and any account usernames, passwords, PINs, or access codes you share with us so we can install, configure, support, or service your system.
• User content — reviews, survey responses, messages, photos, and any other information you choose to share.
• Builder & trade partner data — contact and project information for builders, architects, general contractors, designers, and other trades we coordinate with on a job.

Information collected automatically

• Device & usage data — IP address, browser type, operating system, referring/exit pages, pages viewed, and timestamps.
• Cookies & similar technologies — see Section 4.
• Approximate location — derived from your IP address.

Information from third parties

• Analytics, advertising, and social media providers; service partners; and publicly available sources, used to operate, secure, and improve our Services.
• Builders, general contractors, property managers, and homeowners’ associations who refer a project or provide site access details.
• Review and lead-generation platforms (such as Google Business Profile, Yelp, Angi, or Houzz) and equipment manufacturers’ dealer programs, each of which has its own privacy policy governing information you provide to them directly.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information for the following business and commercial purposes:

• To provide, operate, and maintain the Site and Services;
• To respond to inquiries, prepare estimates and proposals, schedule site visits and installations, and provide technical support;
• To design, install, program, configure, service, and troubleshoot systems at your property, including remote support where you have authorized it;
• To process transactions and send related information such as confirmations, invoices, and warranty documentation;
• To register equipment, process warranty claims, and coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers on your behalf;
• To send administrative, marketing, and promotional communications (you may opt out at any time);
• To personalize content and improve the performance, security, and usability of our Services;
• To detect, prevent, and address fraud, security incidents, and unlawful activity;
• To comply with legal obligations, including contractor licensing and permitting requirements, and to enforce our Terms & Conditions.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share personal information in the following circumstances:

• Service providers / processors — vendors who perform services on our behalf (hosting, analytics, payment processing, email, scheduling, CRM, advertising), bound by contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
• Subcontractors & installation crews — qualified technicians and trade partners who need project and site-access information to perform work you have requested.
• Manufacturers, distributors & monitoring providers — to order equipment, register products, activate accounts or subscriptions, process warranty claims, and, where you have contracted for monitoring, to set up and support that service.
• Builders, contractors & property owners — where we are engaged as a subcontractor on a project, we may share scope, scheduling, and completion information with the party who engaged us.
• Advertising & analytics partners — to measure and improve marketing. Under certain state laws, the use of cross-context behavioral advertising cookies may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information; see Section 5 to opt out.
• Legal & safety — when required by law, subpoena, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Low Voltage Components, our customers, or the public.
• Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
• With your consent — for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time of collection.

4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We and our partners use cookies, web beacons, pixels, and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, analyze traffic, and deliver relevant advertising. Categories include:

Specific technologies currently in use on the Site include Google Tag Manager, which loads our analytics and marketing tags, and Google reCAPTCHA, which protects our contact forms from automated abuse. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information and sends it to Google for analysis; its use is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where available, our cookie banner. We honor recognized opt-out preference signals, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC), where required by law. Disabling some cookies may affect Site functionality.

5. Your Privacy Rights (U.S. State Laws)

We will verify your identity before fulfilling your request and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf with proper authorization. Note that we may be unable to delete certain records we are required to retain for contractor licensing, permitting, warranty, tax, or lien-related purposes.

6. California Notice (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, provides additional rights described in Section 5. In the preceding 12 months, we may have collected the categories of personal information described in Section 1 for the purposes described in Section 2. We do not sell personal information for monetary value and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

Sensitive personal information. Some information we collect may qualify as sensitive personal information under California law — including account log-in credentials, security codes or passwords, precise geolocation associated with a service address, and the contents of communications. We use this information only to perform the services you have requested, to secure and service your systems, and for the other limited purposes permitted by law. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes of inferring characteristics about you, and we do not use it for advertising.

7. International & EU/UK Visitors (GDPR/UK GDPR)

Our Services are operated from the United States and directed to customers in Southern California. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., your information will be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, our legal bases for processing include your consent, performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests. You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing, and to data portability. You may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. 8. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide the Services, support and warrant installed systems, comply with our legal, licensing, accounting, or reporting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Project records, system documentation, and as-built drawings are generally retained for the life of the system and for the period required by California law governing construction records and claims. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.

9. How We Protect Your Information

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. Access to customer credentials, access codes, and system documentation is limited to personnel who need it to perform their work. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your own account credentials confidential and for updating any codes or passwords you shared with us once work is complete.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Third-Party Links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites and services that we do not operate or control. This Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

12. Smart Home Systems, Cameras, Networks & Credentials

Installing and servicing automation, network, camera, access-control, and security systems requires access to information about your home and, in many cases, to the systems themselves. We treat that access as follows:

• Credentials and access codes. Where you provide account log-ins, Wi-Fi passwords, alarm codes, gate or lockbox codes, or system PINs, we use them solely to perform the work you requested. We ask that you change or revoke any temporary codes once a project is complete, and we recommend you maintain ownership of the primary administrator account for every system we install.
• Remote access and support. Some systems allow authorized remote diagnostics and programming. We access your system remotely only to deliver support or maintenance you have requested or authorized, and we do not use remote access to browse your home, view live camera feeds, or listen to audio for any other purpose.
• Video, audio and access-control data. Camera footage, doorbell recordings, entry logs, and similar data generated by your system belong to you and are typically stored on your local recorder or in an account you control with the manufacturer or cloud provider. We do not routinely collect, monitor, store, or retain that data. Where we must view footage or logs to diagnose a problem, we do so only with your knowledge and only as needed to resolve the issue. California law generally restricts recording confidential communications without the consent of all parties — you are responsible for how the systems at your property are used, including any audio recording and any camera placement affecting neighbors or other people.
• Manufacturer and cloud accounts. Systems from providers such as Control4, Crestron, Lutron, Triad, and any monitoring provider operate under those companies’ own privacy policies and terms. Data your system sends to those services is governed by their policies, not this one. We encourage you to review them.
• Monitoring services. Where your system includes third-party alarm monitoring, the monitoring provider collects and processes signal, event, and emergency-contact information under its own agreement and privacy policy.

13. Project Photography & Portfolio Use

We may photograph or video completed work for documentation, warranty, training, and portfolio purposes. Where we intend to publish images of your property in marketing materials, on our website, or on social media, we will obtain your permission first, and we do not publish street addresses, unit numbers, or other details that identify a specific residence without your consent. If you have previously granted permission and wish to withdraw it, contact us using the details in Section 16 and we will remove the images from our own channels going forward.

14. SMS/Text Messaging

If you opt in to receive text messages from us, you consent to receive transactional and/or promotional messages at the number you provide, including scheduling confirmations, technician arrival notices, and service reminders. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. Consent to receive marketing texts is not a condition of any purchase.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above and, where required by law, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
