Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of lowvoltagecomponents.com (the “Site”) and any products, services, content, or communications offered by Low Voltage Components ([ENTITY TYPE — confirm: LLC / Inc. / DBA]) (“Low Voltage Components,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) (collectively, the “Services”). Please read them carefully.
By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Services.
These Terms govern your use of this website and our general business relationship. If you sign a separate written proposal, estimate, installation agreement, or service contract with us, that document controls where it conflicts with these Terms.

1. Eligibility & Acceptance
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and able to form a binding contract to use the Services. By using the Services, you represent that you meet these requirements and that all information you provide is accurate and complete. If you request work at a property, you represent that you are the owner or that you have the owner’s authorization to have the work performed.
2. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Revised Terms become effective when posted, and we will update the “Last Updated” date above. Your continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Services.
3. Permitted Use & Prohibited Conduct
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services for your personal or internal business purposes in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the Services for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose;
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right;
- Copy, reproduce, scrape, harvest, or republish any part of the Services without authorization;
- Introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful code, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems;
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity, security, or performance of the Services;
- Use automated means (bots, crawlers) except as permitted by our robots.txt;
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation;
- Use the Services to transmit unsolicited or unauthorized advertising or spam.
4. Electronic Communications & Consent to Contact
When you submit a form, request an estimate, or otherwise provide your contact information, you consent to receive communications from us electronically — including by email, text message (SMS), and telephone — at the addresses and numbers you provide, including for scheduling, project updates, service reminders, and responses to your inquiry. These communications may be made using automated technology. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out of marketing messages at any time by replying STOP to a text, using the unsubscribe link in an email, or contacting us using the details in Section 19; you may still receive non-marketing messages related to active work at your property.
You agree that electronic communications, approvals, and signatures satisfy any legal requirement that a communication be in writing.
5. Estimates, Quotes, Pricing & Payment
Descriptions, pricing, and availability of products and services shown on the Site are for general informational purposes, are subject to change without notice, and do not constitute an offer or a binding quote. We strive for accuracy but do not warrant that descriptions, pricing, or other content are error-free, and we reserve the right to correct pricing errors and to refuse or cancel any order or project.
Estimates and proposals are based on the scope, site conditions, and equipment availability known at the time they are issued, and are valid only for the period stated on the document (or 30 days if no period is stated). Estimates are not final invoices. Actual charges may differ where the scope changes, where equipment pricing or availability changes, or where site conditions differ from what was observed or represented — including concealed conditions such as existing wiring, framing, insulation, asbestos or other hazardous materials, or structural obstructions. Additional or changed work will be handled through a written change order and billed accordingly.
Where payment is required, you agree to provide current, complete, and accurate payment information and authorize us (or our payment processor) to charge the applicable amounts, including taxes, permit fees, and delivery or restocking fees. Deposits, progress payments, cancellation terms, restocking charges, late fees, and refund eligibility are governed by the written proposal or agreement for your project. Special-order and custom-configured equipment is generally non-refundable once ordered. Title to and risk of loss for equipment passes to you upon delivery to the project site, and we retain any lien rights available to us under California law until paid in full.
6. Installation & Service Work
Scheduling windows and completion dates are estimates, not guarantees, and may be affected by supply chain delays, permitting, inspections, weather, other trades on site, and access to the property. You are responsible for providing safe and timely access to the work areas, adequate electrical power, working internet service where the system requires it, and a secure location for stored materials, and for removing or protecting valuables, furnishings, and fragile items in the work area.
Low-voltage installation may require drilling, fishing wire through walls and ceilings, and cutting openings for devices. Unless expressly stated in your written proposal, our work does not include patching, texturing, painting, drywall or plaster repair, landscaping restoration, or cosmetic finish work, and we are not responsible for pre-existing defects, unmarked utilities or wiring inside walls, or damage arising from concealed conditions we could not reasonably have discovered.
You are responsible for obtaining any HOA, landlord, or property-owner approvals required for the work. Any workmanship warranty we provide is stated in your written proposal or agreement and does not cover damage caused by misuse, abuse, alteration, work by others, power surges or outages, internet or network service interruptions, acts of nature, or failure to perform recommended maintenance or updates.
[CONFIRM & INSERT: California contractor license number (CSLB) and, if security/alarm work is performed, BSIS Alarm Company Operator license number. California requires license numbers to be disclosed in advertising, including websites.]
7. Third-Party Equipment, Software & Subscriptions
We install, configure, and service equipment and software manufactured by third parties. Those products are covered by the manufacturer’s own warranty, license terms, and privacy policies, not by ours, and we make no representation or warranty on the manufacturer’s behalf. To the extent permitted, we will pass through applicable manufacturer warranties to you.
Some systems and features depend on third-party cloud services, mobile applications, firmware updates, dealer programs, active internet service, and paid subscriptions that are controlled by the manufacturer or service provider. Those parties may modify, degrade, or discontinue features, apps, or services, may require ongoing subscription fees, and may change their terms at any time. We are not responsible for such changes, for any resulting loss of functionality, or for outages of internet, cellular, or utility service. Continued operation of certain features may require you to maintain an active subscription or account directly with the provider.
8. Security & Life-Safety Systems — No Guarantee
LOW VOLTAGE COMPONENTS IS NOT AN INSURER AND DOES NOT PROVIDE ALARM MONITORING SERVICES UNLESS EXPRESSLY STATED IN A SEPARATE WRITTEN AGREEMENT. SECURITY, SURVEILLANCE, ACCESS-CONTROL, AND LIFE-SAFETY SYSTEMS ARE NOT GUARANTEED TO PREVENT LOSS, INJURY, THEFT, INTRUSION, FIRE, OR OTHER HARM, AND MAY FAIL OR BE COMPROMISED FOR REASONS OUTSIDE OUR CONTROL — INCLUDING POWER LOSS, INTERNET OR CELLULAR OUTAGE, EQUIPMENT MALFUNCTION, TAMPERING, IMPROPER USE, OR THIRD-PARTY SERVICE FAILURE. THE AMOUNTS YOU PAY US ARE BASED ON THE VALUE OF THE PRODUCTS AND LABOR PROVIDED, NOT ON THE VALUE OF THE PROPERTY OR PERSONS PROTECTED. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING AND MAINTAINING YOUR OWN INSURANCE COVERING LOSS OR DAMAGE TO PERSONS AND PROPERTY.
You are responsible for testing your system periodically, keeping credentials confidential, promptly reporting malfunctions to us, and complying with any local alarm-permit and false-alarm ordinances applicable to your property.
9. Intellectual Property
The Services and all content, features, and functionality — including text, graphics, logos, images, designs, system layouts, drawings, programming files, software, and trademarks — are owned by or licensed to Low Voltage Components and are protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited license granted in these Terms, no rights are transferred to you. You may not use our name, logos, or trademarks without our prior written consent. Third-party brand names and logos appearing on the Site are the property of their respective owners and are used to identify products and services we install and support.
10. User Content & Submissions
If you submit reviews, comments, photos, or other content (“User Content”), you retain ownership but grant Low Voltage Components a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, display, and distribute that User Content in connection with the Services and our business. You represent that you own or control all rights to your User Content and that it does not violate these Terms or any third-party rights. We may, but are not obligated to, monitor, remove, or edit User Content at our discretion.
11. Third-Party Links & Services
The Services may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites, products, or services that we do not control. We provide these for convenience only and do not endorse and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Your use of third-party services is governed by their terms.
12. Disclaimers of Warranties
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LOW VOLTAGE COMPONENTS DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT ANY CONTENT IS ACCURATE OR RELIABLE. YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. NOTHING IN THIS SECTION LIMITS ANY EXPRESS WRITTEN WORKMANSHIP WARRANTY PROVIDED IN YOUR PROJECT AGREEMENT OR ANY RIGHTS THAT CANNOT BE WAIVED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL LOW VOLTAGE COMPONENTS OR ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, SUBCONTRACTORS, OR SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICES GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Low Voltage Components and its owners, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Services, your User Content, your use of any installed system, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.
15. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to Section 16, you agree that any dispute not subject to arbitration will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue there.
16. Arbitration & Class-Action Waiver
Except where prohibited by law, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services that cannot be resolved informally will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered under the rules of a recognized arbitration provider, rather than in court, except that either party may bring a claim in small-claims court. You and Low Voltage Components agree that each may bring claims against the other only in your or its individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by notifying us in writing within 30 days of first accepting these Terms.
Nothing in this Section limits your rights under the California Contractors State License Law or your ability to file a complaint with the Contractors State License Board.
17. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, the licenses granted to you will end, and Sections that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution) will continue to apply.
18. Miscellaneous
- Entire Agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any signed proposal or project agreement are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services.
- Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
- No Waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right or provision.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them freely.
- Subcontractors. We may perform any portion of the work through qualified subcontractors.
- Force Majeure. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
- Headings. Section headings are for convenience only and have no legal effect.
